Southwest Relay for Life

SOUTHWEST RELAY FOR LIFE - The City of Brook Park will host the 2012 American Cancer Society’s Southwest Relay for Life at the Brook Park Community Center on May 19-20, 2012. The Southwest Relay for Life combines the compassion, energy and enthusiasm of the communities of Brook Park, Berea and Middleburg Heights in the fight against cancer. The Relay for Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. At Relay, teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Because cancer never sleeps, Relays are overnight events up to 24 hours in length. This year we want to make the Southwest Relay the biggest ever in terms of team’s participating and donations received. If you are interested in starting a team, becoming a corporate sponsor, or just donating to the cause, you can check the City of Brook Park website at www.cityofbrookpark.com.

Brook Park Salutes America

The Brook Park Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with the City of Brook Park, is proud to introduce the Brook Park Salutes America Flag Program, beginning in May of 2012. This is an excellent opportunity for local businesses, organizations, and residents to sponsor a flag.

The flags will be displayed on 20 ft. poles and will be flown for approximately sixty days throughout the year, in honor of the various patriotic observances (Memorial Day, Flag Day, Fourth of July, Patriots’ Day and Veterans’ Day). A customized sign will accompany each flagpole, which will be displayed in high-visibility areas of Brook Park. Signs can be used to advertise businesses, promote organizations, honor a veteran or remember a loved one.
The first year of sponsorship will cost $275 per flag. To renew in future years, the cost is $175 per year.   Please print the flyer in the Downloads Section of this website under "Brook Park Salutes America".
